White cube or powder, pale pink or light yellow are allowed, sublimating at the temperature over 76°C in atmospherical enviroment , easily to decarboxylate and change into phenol and carbon dioxide when heated quickly. Its aqueous solution appears acid reaction, becomes purple with FeCl3, slightly soluble in water, soluble in boiling water, soluble in ethanol or ether.
